Surfcast In Bathers Beach - [4th day] - Night

Rules and regulations as seen on the beach...Its Cristmas eve tonight and we were fishing here...

I, goin to catch me a big-game Mulloway....Iam told, by the Australians there, that, this was the place to target huge Mulloway, Sharks and even Stingrays...

My old trusty Recustomed Team Daiwa ever on guard in the silent of the night....The beach was very clean and the water was clear...Look at the left of this picture, there's a MacDonald restaurant...

A nice looking cold water Tailor fish....It grabbed my whole squid bait...

The other Tailor of the nite.....All the fishes were released safely...No bigges tonight but believe me, i will be back, and this time to Exmouth.....Tks for sharing ur time with our blog....Now, need to sleep early for the flight back home tommorrow to my, Singapore.....

A View To A Kill....Swan River Fishing - [4th day]

There are corals aplenty coupled with blue blue water where we were fishing. But beware........its a blowfish country...
They are everywhere!!!! They are like pests!!! Wherever you cast (nearer to the jetty), you are bound to hook one up. This "pest" was released after the photo session.

Although it was very nice and tranquil to be here, the current was very strong & flowing in one direction.

Just feast your eyes on this picture and imagine you were there. The water is fantastic. You can't get such clear water back home in Singapore. We got excited just being there...........................

More on the blue blue waters we came to love that day!

The sky and water seem to merge.................this is plain heaven.

We took shelter from the sweltering heat under this.

My first cast in the middle of the river resulted in a nibble....I was using a dead prawn as bait, hooked on a no:3/0 Owner wt no:1/0 as a keeper hook. Then, to my surprise, my line began to peel away in a gentle manner.....!!!!
After, the strike...suddenly, my rod began to bend over double. My Penn Powergraph Surf rod was a jetty rod.....It has a stiffer tip action compared with a beachcasting rod..but....then, whatever the fish it was, changed direction (& speed), was swimming against the current....rendering me helpless...I was trying to slow the fish down but.....to no avail...!!!!.... After, 3 mins later, the fish decide to gear up again....!!!!

By this time, my Daiwa reel was screeching loudly (like a banshee).......My line began peeling off at an extremely fast speed......AND IT WAS ON A ONE-WAY-TICKET-MODE!!!!.... I could not control the fight...nor slow it down.....Even my drag was almost in full lock.....Whatever it was....IT MUST BE DARN SUPER BIG!!!....Then, after 5mins later, the unimaginable thing happened.......my line went slack and snapped, it broke...I guess it was due to it rubbing off the corals at a fast speed....I was shaken by this incident.....even till now...

Iam having my arms & back sored again with sad disposition after losing the battle...

The inside parts of the Swan River...I was looking at those beautiful houses there...

Noticed a very big bush-fire...

Fishing At Harbour Village In Fremantle - [2nd day]

For a fanatic surfcaster like me, there's no other better place to surfcast other than here in Australia....Well, at least, i don't feel like a tourist, walking, looking, and eating air...I brought along my big-game surfcast set....

My surfcast setup. Many friendly Australians who came across us were quite amazed and stop for a quick chat with me...One thing i found out was, the Snappers would only be caught here during the winter months and mostly be around 3 to 4kg sizes....

Jacq, patiently waiting for a bite.....

My Whiting or Swar-Chiam freshly caught and being used as bait...just for the Biggies....!!!

Just outside our living quarters, a decent catch like this 3kg Electric Shovelnose Ray can suprised us...

A closer view of my catch....

A view of the Electric Kemejan Ray from the top......

Jacque showing her cold-blooded Tailor..

another Tailor landed...

Longkang Enam part 2

It must have been the same fish...??? It had the same colour, size, dot n hooked by the same fisherman...??? It was released unharmed upon picture taking...
The 2nd fish of the day...A 500g Grouper...by my Daiwa Cooperation...It grabbed the bait in an old fashion way...grab n Go......
The light tackle registered a bite and was handled by Jacq...She calmly reeled it in...and a 500g grouper was the culprit....

The view of the grouper from the top...It was around 500g...and it was caught by our lightest tackle there...

The rain plus strong wind does'nt deterred us from our passinate fishing... We braved on...and i was later rewarded wt a nice 500g Flounder...just when i was reeling in my line to changed bait...

Did u saw anything there?...The Flounder was being nicely camouflaged when i placed it to the ground...
Not so visible now....As the Flounder was on top of the white background.....

Look, who's looking at u now....

That's me posing wt a beautiful Prata of 2kg size...The other name for this stingray is Pari Lalat...
The front view of the Prata...Flurocarbon lines were used...wt chemically sharpened Owner or Gamakatsu hooks.....

The back view of the Prata...It was subdued by my Daiwa Combination...Daiwa legendary Black Diamond Rg7000 spinning reel paired wt 10'ft Team Daiwa Power-Mesh Recustomed...
